The Department of Physics and Technology at UiT The Arctic University of Norway announces 2-3 vacant positions as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in machine/deep learning, multi-sensor processing, and scalable computing in remote sensing for large-scale Arctic applications. The appointments are for a period of three years, with the possibility of up to one year’s extension if teaching duties are undertaken.

The positions are funded by the Centre for Integrated Remote Sensing and Forecasting for Arctic Operations (CIRFA) and the “Extreme Earth”-project.  CIRFA is a Centre for Research-based Innovation, financed by the Research Council of Norway together with the Centre’s research and user partners. “Extreme Earth” was granted by the by Horizon 2020 under the call: H2020-ICT-2018-2020, and involves cooperation with some highly ranked European research groups in remote sensing, computer science and machine learning. The positions are all affiliated to the Department of Physics and Technology, Faculty of Science and Technology, UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
