CIRFA OPENING
The official grand and long awaited opening of CIRFA took place on Friday 13th, November 2015 at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway.
On the agenda were tapas, musical entries, presentations, and cake. Several partners of CIRFA had taken the long hike up north to participate in this opening. Local partners were also present.
Several interesting presentations were held, covering important topics. These were given by people from the government, industry, UiT, and CIRFA. Some of the topics presented were local remote sensing history, the process of the SFI application, collaborations, CIRFA’s objectives, and various research from the field.
Following beautiful musical entries by Robaat, nice and informal gratings were given by the Tromsø’s Mayor, Norwegian Space center, UiT, and NORUT serving as a perfect end to a fantastic event.
