CIRFA participates in the AI4Arctic workshop during ESA Phi-week

Today, CIRFA presented in two sessions of the side event “Machine Learning for Operational Sea Ice Charting” during ESA Phi-week:

• “SAR data analysis by DL for automatic sea ice classification”, presented by Habib Ullah

• “Towards automated ice charts using Copernicus data”, presented by Thomas Kræmer

The workshop was a joint ESA Phi-week side-event between the AI4Arctic project (ESA), the ExtremeEarth project (H2020), the Danish ASIP project (www.asip.dk) and the ESA Phi-lab and gathered the research community focused on machine learning for sea ice applications.
