This coming Thursday there will be a CIRFA seminar, and as we are getting closer to the holiday season we’ll have a seminar about snow and drones given by our very own Rolf-Ole Rydeng Jensen.

Snow parameter estimation with drone-mounted radar system – Theory and practical solutions

WHEN: 10 December 2020, 14:00-14:30.

Abstract

Snow is considered the largest gap in the current knowledge of the global water budget and is a critical component of the Earth’s ecosystem. The challenge of reliable, non-invasive estimation of snow state parameters such as depth and density could be solved with drone-mounted radar systems. This talk aims to look theoretically into how to do such estimations and accomplish them practically.
