The radio programme “Wissenschafts-magazin” on Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF) has published a radio report about the in-situ work with drones in Ny-Ålesund. The report from Spitzbergen describes how the researchers work under extreme conditions to better understand the decline of sea ice, while flying with a drone above the sea surface and analysing in real-time whether the photographed ice is an ice sheet or an iceberg.

Agnar Sivertsen, Norut, Rune Storvold, Norut, and Sebastian Gerland, Norwegian Polar Institute, were interviewed by SRF journalist Thomas Häusler.
